Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how OneADay Cookbook handles information when you use the web app, progressive web app, or Android app. OneADay Cookbook is provided by OneADay Apps.
Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to run your cookbook account and sync your recipes:
- Account information, such as your email address, display name, password hash, and login session.
- Recipe content you create or import, including recipe text, categories, tags, ratings, nutrition values, images, source URLs, timers, meal plans, and shopping-list data.
- Match mode information, such as participant display names, recipe choices, and votes for the match session.
- Billing status and subscription identifiers needed to manage Premium access. Payment card details are handled by Stripe or Google Play and are not stored by OneADay Cookbook.
- Basic technical information sent by your browser or device, such as IP address, user agent, cookies, and server logs.
How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Store, sync, import, export, and display your recipes across devices.
- Provide offline access where supported by your browser or app.
- Run match mode, meal planning, shopping lists, cooking mode, and cookbook PDF generation.
- Process Premium subscription status and enforce recipe and image-storage limits.
- Send account-related messages, such as password reset emails.
- Maintain security, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only when needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, or protect the service. This includes:
- Hosting and database providers used to store and run the app.
- Stripe for web subscription checkout and subscription management.
- Google Play for Android subscription purchases and purchase verification.
- People you invite to match mode, who can see the recipes included in that match session and the match results shown by the app.
Recipe Import
If you import a recipe from a URL, the app fetches that webpage to extract recipe information. The original website may receive normal web request information from the server performing the import.
Local Storage And Offline Data
The app stores some data locally on your device using browser storage or app storage so recipes can be viewed offline. Clearing browser or app data can remove locally stored offline data.
Retention And Deletion
We keep account and recipe data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleted recipes may remain briefly in sync records or backups before being removed. You can export your recipes from the app. To request account or data deletion, contact us using the address below.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, authenticated sessions, CSRF protection, and HTTPS when deployed with a valid certificate. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
OneADay Cookbook is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last changed.
